Original Item: Only One Available. Probably worn in combat, this is a great example of the classic British WWII Army Officer's “Peaked” visor cap, made from the standard Khaki wool material. It features a leather chin strap held in place by gilded buttons bearing the Royal Coat of arms with a King’s crown, and the front has a blacked brass Lincolnshire Regiment Cap Badge. The interior still has the top plastic sweatguard, and underneath is the maker’s name and size:

Established 1778
THOMAS TOWNEND & CO. LIMITED
LONDON
7 3/4

The cap really is in wonderful condition showing little wear.

Raised in 1685 as the 10th Regiment of Foot, in WWII the various Battalions of the Lincolnshire Regiment served in both the European and Pacific theaters. Initially in Norway, then France/Belgium under Major General Bernard Montgomery. It returned to England after Dunkirk but re-invaded France on D-Day in 1944. It then served in Normandy right through to Germany's surrender in 1945.

The cap is un-named but in just perfect condition that could have seen combat in WWII. Primo condition, ready to display!
